TODAY WAS HOT (in more ways than one)

Today was Hot!
This morning started out in prayer with Daniel, and then we started the routine of organizing Sunday mornings, and prepping for VBS. Soon we began to help out on little things that people were in need of, and somewhat stressing on due to VBS. We did the little but important jobs, such as, cleaning all the toys in the nursery, both infant and toddlers. We spent time on getting the things that people needed, and further more, more prep towards the fact of having a magnitude of kids here in a matter of days. It’s definitely been a huge project for everyone. – Everyone here, whether we see it or not is contributing towards VBS. I never knew how much work it actually takes to make it come out the way it does, so I want to applaud the staff and the numerous volunteers that make it happen. They’re the ones that give the kids the ultimate week. Along with the kids that attend VBS are many kids from briarwood, the neighborhood that we work in. Today’s experience was another good one and it’s always as if the number of children never cease to grow. There’s value going into a neighborhood in a white van driving by houses seeing kids in windows, yards, and friend’s houses just waiting for that van to stop at their house. Although, some days it’s hard, I have seen a lot of value being with these kids. In some of these kid’s lives they don’t necessarily have a strong source of love, and giving us the chance to be that is definitely an awesome feeling.
